GDC Day 1 – Exodus

OK, first a little information: Last Saturday, I got sick. The flu. Damn it. I got some gnarly antibiotics, so I won’t turn GDC into the Game Developers Pandemic.

The people on this trip are Jessica (My girl friend), Justin (buddy from school who I haven’t seen in a while), Ryan (A buddy from school as well who I see pretty often), Steve (Guy I met at the last GDC, who also went to Full Sail, and seems pretty cool) and myself (yeah. Me).

Enjoy the ride!

We flew from Newark airport on Continental Airlines. Jess and me ran into Ryan at the airport and the three of us took off into the wild blue yonder. We didn’t get an in-flight movie, we got in-flight cable. Yeah, I watched Batman with Adam West, Transformers G1, Fraggle Rock, Spongebob and Top Gear. Yeah, excellent. Good start.

Now to find Justin…

Justin isn’t from Jersey. So we spent a good while in SanFran waiting for his flight, and when it came in, we walked a few laps around the airport to find him. But we found him fine, and we got in a van and got to our hotel, where we all preceeded to crash while we decided what to do the next few days.

China Town

After a bit of a rest, we wanted food. We decided to go for some damn-near authentic Chinese food. Totally worth it – Real General’s Chicken, Real lemonade, Real delicious. We walked around, picked up some soveneres, and now we’re finishing up the day by going to sleep

All in all, nothing too GDC-esque yet, but we only just started. More awesomeness to come, as we get our GDC registration, and go hit Fisherman’s Wharf and Alcatraz. Oh, yeah…
